What is life coachingWhat is Life-Coaching?

This is a question I am often asked so, I’ve produced a short booklet to hopefully give you an insight into what life-coaching is about.  For me it’s grounded in the 3RO of coaching:  Respect, Rapport, Resources and Outcomes.

Each life-coach has their own area(s) of expertise and preferred methods of working.  It is therefore important that you take time to find the life-coach that will work with you, to help you achieve the results your are looking for.

It’s only eight (printer-friendly) pages in all, but includes thirty thought-provoking questions for you to ask yourself.  Give yourself the gift of taking some time to think about how you would answer.

Life-Coaching Comfort Zone Your Comfort-Zone and How to Use It?

I was recently asked some questions about  the “Comfort-Zone” and so I thought I would put together a short explanatory booklet.

One lady who spoke to me she felt constantly pressured to “get out” of her comfort-zone.

Your comfort-zone is a precious resource.  Enjoy it.  Protect it.  Use it!

And don’t let anyone bully you to “get out” of it.

Wheel of Life (188 x 300)The Wheel of Life

Many coaches use this simple tool as a starting point in helping clients to assess their overall initial  situation.

The wheel can enable you to identify what’s working for you currently and the areas where you want to focus your attention to be able to move forward.

Choose the 8 most important areas of your life, consider how satisfied you are in each of those areas and give them a rating on a scale of 1 to 10 on the central spokes of the wheel (where the rim is 10 and the centre is 0).  A completly happy person would produce a fully rounded, large circle.  In reality, almost everyone produces a wonky wheel indicating the areas in need of our attention.

Try it on your own, or contact me for one-to-one coaching, which always starts with a FREE, no-obligation 45-minute “Exploration Call”.

Download a free, pretty “Doodly Heart” template

“Doodly Heart” is a simple exercise aimed at raising your spirits. Doodly Heart
For this you will need the fresh peel of two lemons, two large candles, a sprig of lilac and….. No, I’m only kidding! 😊 All you need is a pen/pencil and piece of A4 (or A5) paper to doodle/draw,
Start by drawing a large heart shape, or printing off the pretty template here.
Take some time, to think of everything in your life today that you are grateful for.  (Admittedly, on my lowest days, it can take a major effort to get started but, once you do begin, you will find that the positivity starts to flow.)
As positive thoughts/images come to your mind, write or draw them inside the heart-shape on your paper. Literally, fill your heart as your thoughts fill your mind, reminding yourself of all the good things you have in your life today.
By the time I’ve finished (sometimes even after just 10 minutes) I feel more positive.
Of course, if you’re in the mood and you have the time, you can spend as long as you like on this.
I’ve pulled together an idealised version (here)on Canva to demonstrate. My actual hand-drawn Doodly Hearts are a lot quicker to do and far less neat than this, but I found that even doing this exercise on the computer was fun and uplifting.
Give it a go!
